Exploring Cleveland
Need a quick break from your classes? Why not explore some of the opportunities for some fun and exercise that is surrounding you? There are many options not only around DSU campus to fill up your down time, but also all around the town of Cleveland, Miss.
A great place to keep you busy is at the Forest E. Wyatt Center, located southwest of the Union.
It’s easy. All you have to do is present your Okra Card, then, you will have access to Forest E. Wyatt Center Gymnasium. The fun activities offered are:
-Swimming pool
-Exercise gym
-Racquet ball courts
-Basketball courts
-Ping pong tables
-A place to sign up for a wide selection of intramural sports.
There are also tennis courts on campus and around town that you can use such as Bear Pen Park. Located on College St., within the western limits of the city of Cleveland, Bear Pen has:
-Disc golf
-Tennis courts
-Baseball and softball fields
-Exercise stations
-Large play fields
-Walking trail
Bear Pen is not the only park around. There are also others that offer an assortment of activities, such as the following:
-Shady Grove Park (1329 Pearman Rd.) also has open play fields as well as baseball fields.
-Firemans Park (600 Lamar St.) has a wading pool and tennis courts.
With all of the options available to do fun activities, there is no reason for you to ever feel bored again!
