Jack Vernon is a junior at Delta State University. He is from Southaven, Miss. and started at Delta State as a freshman. He knew Delta State was the university for him after seeing his older brother attend. Jack is an English major with a concentration in philosophy and is pursuing a minor in creative writing. After getting his degree, Jack wants to go to seminary school and work in some type of ministry. However, this was not always Jack’s plan; he used to be a double major in math and sports management. When he has free time, he likes to watch any and all sports—from pickle ball to football. He enjoys writing poetry and reading works which lend a sense of adventure, from such authors like Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, J. K. Rowling, Paolini and Riordan. Jack also appreciates Broadway and likes finding new musicals to watch.
