Delta Swim and Dive hosted a meet against Ouachita Baptist honoring their senior swimmers and divers. Final Score: Lady Statesmen 331, Ouachita 253. Statesmen 298, Ouachita 338.
On February 1, the Delta State University Swimming and Diving teams recognized seven seniors for their dedication and contributions to the team. The Statesmen and Lady Statesmen would like to congratulate Tristen Fant, Reagan Fulton, Aubri Maroney, Hannah Murray, Meredith Rice, Jakob Brougham, and Brooks Butler for maintaining academics in addition to their athletic achievements.
These seniors are distinguished in their status as student athletes, as only about 7% of all athletes go on to compete at the college level. Moreover, about 35% of college swimmers leave the sport annually, further highlighting the distinction of these athletes.
Each of these seniors have left their mark at Delta State. Below are just some of their accomplishments.
Tristen Fant Tristen is a Psychology major originally from Humble, Texas. Tristen was a member of the Delta State National Team in the 400 freestyle relay during the 2021-2022 season and again in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay in the 2022-2023 season. She has also been a key member of Delta State Relays during her years in the program. Other highlights from Tristen’s career include seven top 10 finishes in individual events at the NSISC Conference Championships. Tristen is also an NSISC Scholar Athlete. Tristen shared that her favorite memory with the team was jumping in the water with everyone after the boys won conference. She said she enjoyed ending the season in such a fun and exciting way.
Reagan Fulton Reagan is a Psychology major originally from Hines, Oregon. Reagan achieved scores high enough to invite her to the NCAA Division II National Championships during the 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025 seasons. Reagan is also the school record holder in the Women’s 1-meter 11 dive and 3-meter 11 dive events and was named the NSISC Women’s Co-Diver of the Month. Other highlights from Reagan’s career include four top 10 finishes at the NSISC Conference Championships. Reagan is also an NSISC Scholar Athlete.
Aubri Maroney Aubri is an Exercise Science major from Oxford, Mississippi. She has been a member of the Women’s Swimming and Diving team since the 2023-2024 season and is also involved in the Phi Mu fraternity. Aubri is part of several organizations, including American Future Healthcare Professions, and the Catholic Student Association. She serves as an intern with Delta State University’s athletic training staff. Aubri is also an NSISC Scholar Athlete. Aubri shared that her favorite memory with the team is stretching with her teammates before practices and meets.
Hannah Murray Hannah is a Business Management major from George, South Africa. Hannah was a member of the Delta State National Team in the 500 freestyle and 400 Freestyle relay during the 2022-2023 season, and again in the 1000 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and 400 freestyle relay during the 2023-2024 season. Hannah serves as a captain for the Women’s team for the 2024-2025 season. Other highlights from Hannah’s career include eight top 10 finishes at the NSISC Conference Championships. Hannah is also an NSISC Scholar Athlete. Hannah shared that her favorite memory from the team was spring break her freshmen year, since she enjoyed feeling the balance of athletics and being a normal student.
Meredith Rice Meredith is a General Biology and Environmental Science double major with a concentration in Wildlife Management. She is originally from Canton, Georgia. Meredith has competed at the NSISC Conference Championships each year of her career, earning top 16 finishes in both the 2021-2022 season as well as the 2022-2023 season. Meredith is also involved in Delta State University’s Tri Beta organization. Meredith is also an NSISC Scholar Athlete. Meredith shared that her favorite memory with the team was jumping off the 10 meter platform at a recent travel meet against Louisiana State University.
Jakob Brougham Jakob is a Biochemistry major originally from St. Augustine, Floria. Jakob was an NSISC Conference champion in the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle during the 2021-2022 season, as well as in the 500 and 1000 freestyle during the 2022-2023 season. He also served as a men’s team captain during the 2023-2024 season. Jakob was part of the Delta State Men’s Swimming and Diving team that won the NSISC Conference Championship during both the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons.
Brooks Butler Brooks is a Flight Operations major from Ochlocknee, Georgia. Brooks was a member of the Delta State National Team in the 800 freestyle relay during the 2022-2023 season, as well as in the 200 freestyle relay during the 2023-2024 season. Other highlights from Brooks’s career include eight top 10 finishes at the NSISC Conference Championships. Brooks is also an NSISC Scholar Athlete.

Through early mornings, grueling sets, and countless hours in the water, they have trained with unwavering commitment, pushing themselves and their teammates to be better every day. More than just athletes, they have been leaders, mentors, and the source of endless positivity on the pool deck, lifting spirits with their energy and encouragement. Their impact goes beyond times on a scoreboard – they have shaped the culture of our team, leaving a legacy of hard work, camaraderie, and pride that will inspire generations to come.”
