The Cotton House Hotel has recently added Staple Food and Drink to its property. This restaurant has established itself as a fine dining location, open 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. seven days a week.

Each meal has its own menu, with all three being nothing short of fine dining. Breakfast begins at 6 a.m. and concludes at 10 a.m. It includes classic breakfast dishes like biscuit, egg, and bacon plates.

Lunch begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. The menu features a few starters ranging from the humble spinach dip to decadent garlic parmesan oysters. Also included in the menu are a variety of handhelds like an elevated Cuban sandwich and the popular smash burger. These handhelds are available with fries or a side salad. The kitchen does close for a few hours after lunch, so make sure to get there with enough time to enjoy the food.

Beginning at 5 p.m. Staple Food and Drink opens its doors for dinner. There are only a few similarities between the lunch and dinner menus. A few of these include the oysters, the salads, and the smash burger. The dinner appetizers all have a rustic element to them. The mushroom toast features freshly grilled sourdough bread. The burnt ends glazed brussel sprouts taste like true Southern cooking but with that fine dining twist that Staple sprinkles into all of its food.

The stars of the dinner menu are without a doubt the entrees. The filet mignon is served with garlic mashed potatoes, which is already a fine dining staple in many restaurants. The ribeye is served with a roasted bone marrow butter which gives the humble ribeye an elevated kick. The rigatoni with duck ragu is reminiscent of family pasta nights that so many grew up with. The dinner menu will leave all palates satisfied.

A true Southern comfort meal, the pan roasted half chicken with grits and caper butter sauce provides a delicious, comforting twist on chicken piccata.
