Cleveland, Miss – Delta State University announced the election of Hayden Kirkhart and Evelyn Greer as the Student Government Association President and Vice President for the 2025-2026 school year. The announcement was made just after voting closed on Wednesday, April 2.
This will be Kirkhart’s second consecutive term as SGA president, as she also held the position for the 2024-2025 school year. Notably, Kirkhart won this year’s election by a wide margin, securing 67% of the student body population and over 550 total votes.

Kirkhart shares some of her first term accomplishments via her “Keep Kirkhart” Instagram page, highlighting the combination of the university’s Go Green and Springfest events, the addition of a game room in the H.L. Nowell Student Union, and implementing a member of SGA to serve as Director of Student Health and Wellness.
During her campaign, Kirkhart pledged to continue improving student life at Delta State, emphasizing her commitment towards improving the Forest E. Wyatt Fitness Center, pursuing student discounts with local businesses, establishing a Student Leadership Council, and improving the food quality and variety in the cafeteria. In her campaign, Kirkhart states, “I want to continue to serve you, to be your advocate, and to ensure that every student’s voice is heard. I want to continue to work with you to make Delta State the best it can be.” Kirkhart has considerable experience in leadership positions at Delta State University, serving as SGA President for the 2024-2025 school year, Circle President of Omicron Delta Kappa, and SGA Attorney General for the 2023-2024 school year.
Greer’s election as Vice President marks her first year in the Student Government Association Cabinet. Greer has served as a senator on the Delta State Student Senate during the 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025 school years.

The race for Vice President was incredibly tight, with Greer capturing 51% of the student body votes.
Like Kirkhart, Greer also has experience in leadership positions on campus, serving as the President of the African American Student Council. Greer also gave the invocation at Dr. Daniel J. Ennis’s inauguration as university president and has experience working as a Student Navigator in the First Year Seminar classes.
In her campaign, Greer emphasized, “Our campus deserves leadership that listens, leadership that brings real change. I’m running for SGA because I believe in a better future for all of us – one where every student’s voice is heard, where new ideas are embraced, and where we work together to make our campus the best it can be. This isn’t just my campaign – it’s our movement. Let’s make a difference together.”
