that is the rock itself
(mostly,) when Sisyphus was
pushing the rock his hands would
sting and his bones would start
to ache and in those moments he’d be too
tired to keep going and let the rock roll
down
while he was still far away from the top
the first time this happened Sisyphus fell
to his knees in shaking fits – now when it happens
Sisyphus shrugs and walks down the mountain.
