Julia Morrisroe Art Exhibit Opens
ulia Morrisroe, an associate professor at the University of Florida, was the featured artist at Delta State’s own campus gallery. The exhibition was opened on Aug. 25.
According to Morrisroe’s summary of her work, the goal in this particular exhibition is “to seek the relentlessly streaming information and data from my phone, my car, the airport, and TVs everywhere.” Morrisroe used many different types of techniques and canvases to achieve this goal. On some canvases she used dark colors and chaotic lines, others she created a sort of grid, and still in others she used both bright and dark colors with disordered images throughout.
On Sept. 22, Morrisroe will visit the campus and give a public lecture at 4 p.m. in the art gallery.
If you would like to visit the gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you would like more information on Morrisroe or the exhibition please visit www.deltastate.edu/news-and-events/event/oppening-reception-julia-morrisre-im-sorry-saying/2016-09-08/
